The role of teachers in Australia is guided by the standards mandated for professional practice. Four seem to be critical in terms of Knowledge Networks for Educators.

There seems no debate about if ICT is used – this spells out how it will be used.
The same concept is reiterated in standard 3.4 as an inclusion in all resources expected to be incorporated into learning design.
Standards 6.2 and 6.3 seem to suggest that Knowledge Networking for Educators would be a valuable way in which to meet professional requirements.
